Commissions and statements
Generate a commission statement from Nerve's settled invoices, read its snapshot lines, and reconcile it when billing moves underneath it.

Who this is for: Partner — requires
affiliates.commission.read, which every teammate holds. Where: Partner portal → Statements
A statement is one period of your portfolio, priced. It lists what Nerve billed each customer in your book, the rate that customer's entry carries, and the commission that follows — and it snapshots all three, so it can be checked again later against a billing feed that has since moved on.
Where the figures come from#
Nothing on this screen is typed in by you, by the hotel, or by anyone at Nerve. The chain is short and it runs one way:
- Nerve invoices an organisation for its subscription.
- The organisation settles that invoice.
- Settlement emits a billing event, and every portfolio entry naming that organisation is credited the invoiced amount, filed under the month the invoice covers.
- Generating a statement sums those credits over the period you asked for and applies each entry's commission rate.
So commission = billed revenue × rate, and billed revenue is settled invoices — not bookings, not room revenue, and not anything the hotel itself reports. A hotel that is invoiced but has not paid contributes nothing until it does.
Ghi chú
Attribution is by billing month, not by settlement date. An invoice for March that is settled in June lands in March. That is what makes a statement for a closed period able to change afterwards — and why reconciling exists.
Every credit reaching your portfolio arrives through that path. There is no manual adjustment screen in the portal, and no way for a figure here to disagree with Nerve's billing except by the feed having moved since the statement was cut.
The currency you are settled in#
Your partnership has one currency, and every figure in the portal is in it. It is agreed when the partnership is signed and set by Nerve at that point — there is no currency field anywhere in the portal, and changing it on a live partnership would silently reinterpret every statement you have already been paid on.
Alongside it sits a formatting locale, which is what decides date order and digit grouping — whether a thousand reads 1,234.56 or 1.234,56. That is separate from the language of the words, which follows your own account preference and can differ from a teammate's.
The customer side of Nerve works differently and it is worth knowing why: there, times and money follow the property, because a hotel has one. A partner has no property, so the partnership carries its own currency and formatting instead of inheriting a hotel's. If you also hold access on the hotel side, you will see that hotel's currency there and your settlement currency here, correctly.
Quan trọng
Revenue in another currency is refused, never converted. Nerve does not apply an exchange rate to make a foreign invoice fit your settlement currency, and it will not add two currencies into one figure. A customer billed in a currency that is not yours does not quietly become a smaller or larger number on your statement — it is reported as a mismatch and left for a human. There is no FX in this product, by design.
Each statement line also records the currency it was priced in, alongside the revenue and the rate. That is what keeps an old statement readable as the document it was on the day it was cut.
Generate a statement#
- Set the from date to the first day of the earliest month you are billing for.
- Set the to date to a day in the last month you are billing for.
- Select Generate.
The statement appears at the top of the list and opens beside it.

One statement per period. Gross is what the customers were billed; the figure on the right is your share of it — both in your settlement currency.
Quan trọng
Revenue is filed against the first of its month, so a period that does not contain a first contains no revenue. "The last 30 days" ending mid-month will look empty or short. Bill in whole months: the 1st of the first month through any day in the last.
Generating the same period twice makes a second statement rather than replacing the first. That is deliberate — a statement is a document you may already have sent someone — but it does mean you should delete nothing and generate deliberately.
Read a statement#
Selecting a statement opens its detail beside the list: one line per customer in the period, each showing the revenue billed, the rate applied, and the commission.

A line is a snapshot: this revenue, at this rate, in this currency, giving this commission. Later changes to any of them do not rewrite it.
A line only exists for a customer that was in your portfolio when the statement was generated. Revenue from outside your book is not commissionable and never appears.
A statement is open until a payout is scheduled against it, at which point it reads paid. See Payouts.
Reconcile a statement against billing#
Reconciling re-reads the billing feed for the statement's period and compares it, line by line, with what the statement snapshotted. Run it before you invoice against a statement, and again if a customer disputes one.
- Open the statement.
- Select Reconcile against billing.

A clean reconciliation. The snapshot and the feed agree, so the statement can be acted on.
What the two outcomes mean:
| Result | What happened |
|---|---|
| Matches the billing feed | every line still agrees with billing; the statement is safe to act on |
| n mismatch(es) vs. billing | billing changed after the statement was cut — each drifting line is listed with its delta |
A delta is not an error to fix on this screen. It is a fact about billing, and it has causes worth telling apart:
- A late settlement. An invoice for a month inside the period was settled after you generated — the commonest case, and a positive delta.
- A billing adjustment. A credit or correction against an already-settled invoice.
- A customer onboarded afterwards. A portfolio entry added after the statement was cut has revenue in the period the statement never billed. It shows as a line the statement does not have.
- Revenue in a different currency. A customer billed in a currency other than your settlement currency has no line on the statement to match against, so it appears here as its own unmatched line, naming that currency. It is reported, never netted — subtracting one currency from another would be a wrong number that looks right.
For the first three the fix is the same: generate a fresh statement for the period, which prices the feed as it now stands, and settle the difference against the one you already paid out.
A currency mismatch is the exception, and re-generating will not clear it. It means a customer in your book is being billed in a unit your partnership cannot be paid in, which is a commercial question rather than a reporting one — raise it with Nerve.
What's next#
- Payouts — turn a statement into money owed, and track it to paid.
- Your portfolio — the book a statement is priced against.
